Movement
The Gathering is a community movement within the 18-35 community of DFW-loving God, knowing culture, loving people and seeing lives transformed to live for Jesus.
The Gathering is a ministry of First Euless.
sent
The Gathering is praying and working toward the establishment of communities on mission for Jesus on and around DFW college campuses & single culture centers. We firmly believe that Jesus sent us to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our communities for the kingdom of God.
what
We have one aim: to disciple disciple-makers. As people come into contact with the aroma of Christ through those that are sent, they come into contact with the kingdom of God and the opportunity to respond to the gospel. Yet, it doesn’t end there. We desire to present every man complete in Christ–evangelized, established, equipped, and extending into the world.
We do this through centering on Biblical community, gathering on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evening services where we hear God’s Word, respond in corporate worship, and dissect life in groups during the week.
why
Why theGathering?
As we observe the AD30 church, which was trained by Jesus, the master-disciplemaker, we see that the church was about the city.
The Apostles ministered within the city as a whole, establishing smaller communities in homes throughout the city.
These groups were called ekklesia, which is the joining of two words that mean “out” and “called.” It is translated as assembly, or gathering of the called out ones. Jesus has called us out, so we come to theGATHERING as those that are called out, but also those that are sent out by Jesus, our head.
We look to Him to lead, guide, and enable us with His word in our hearts, and His mission motivating each of our steps.
